Puno is a city in southern Peru on Lake Titicaca, one of South America’s largest lakes and the world’s highest navigable body of water. A regional trading hub, the city’s also considered Peru’s “folkloric capital” owing to its traditional festivals featuring vibrant music and dancing.
Day One : PUNO IN – SILLUSTANI
Reception and transfer to hotel.
We will take time to settle in the hotel and rest during the morning.
In the afternoon we will leave for the Chullpas de Sillustani, on the way we will have the opportunity to visit Waru-waru, a place that is an interesting pre-Inca agricultural area, where we will have a guided visit, then visit some houses of the inhabitants Zone to know its culture and its lifestyle, later we will arrive at the Sillustani, it is conformed by gigantic cylinders, more known like chullpas that are necrópolis where the great dignitaries of the Tiahuanaco culture, who populated the plateau more than three thousand years.
Next we will have an observation of Laguna Umayo.
Return to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 2: ISLANDS UROS & TAQUILE
07:30 am. We will move to the port puno where we will begin our lacustrine crossing in a very fast boats, we will arrive quickly to the Floating Island of the Uros which are a set of floating islands formed with base of totora, and are inhabited by the Uros, settlers who Descend from one of the oldest cultures in America. We will be able to appreciate its peculiar style of life and its creations like elaboration of wool fabrics and dissected animals.
Next we will visit the Taquile Island, we will know the town, also we will have a time of exploration and purchases in the community.
We will return to Puno in the afternoon. Overnight.
Day 3: PUNO OUT
At the right time transfer to the station to return to the city of origin.
