Madre de Dios is a region in southeastern Peru’s Amazon Basin, bordering Brazil and Bolivia. In the west, vast Manú National Park encompasses Andean highland, cloud forest and lowland jungle. Celebrated for their biodiversity, the savannahs and old-growth rainforest of Tambopata Reserve lie in the southeast. Just north is regional capital Puerto Maldonado, at the convergence of the Madre de Dios and Tambopata rivers.

Day 1: COCHA CAIMÁN
Upon your arrival in Puerto Maldonado, the Capital of Biodiversity of Peru, we will meet you at the airport. Then we will start our program, with a bus tour, around the city.
Then we will go to Puerto Capitanía, where our boat will wait for you to sail along the Rio Madre de Dios River (Rio Serpenteante), until arriving at our hostel, located thirty kilometers from the city of Puerto Maldonado.
On the way, you can see rural estates destined to agricultural and livestock activities near the city. If the weather is auspicious, you will see colorful plants such as giant flower heliconias, and the possibility of observing animals such as ronsocos, caimans, aquatic turtles, herons, cormorants, carrion birds and prey.
Upon arrival at our hostel, you will be greeted with a delicious nectar of tropical Amazonian fruits and taken to your comfortable room (bungalow), reserved for the occasion. Once installed, a succulent lunch awaits you in our cozy dining room with rustic design.
COCHA CAIMÁN. In the afternoon, you will be led by our specialized guide through an interpretive trail conveniently signposted to Cocha Cayman, a small lagoon where you will be able to observe black caiman and white alligator, efficient predators located at the top of the food chain, Which live off the abundant water fauna of the cocha, represented by species of fish.
At the end of the afternoon, you will witness the spectacular sunset in the Amazon, an experience full of color in ranges and overwhelming intensities.
Upon returning to the hostel, a delicious dinner will be waiting and you will have free time to share unforgettable moments in our bar, equipped with an excellent table games room and provided with all the drinks you can imagine.
The nocturnal fauna will be in charge of lulling it with the melody of an infinity of songs and voices of diverse birds.
Day 2: APU VICTOR LAKE - LOS MONOS ISLAND
The magic begins with the songs of birds of the Amazonian paradise, when waking up with the singing of the howler monkey. A hearty breakfast will provide you with the energy you need for a morning full of new experiences.
LAKE APU VICTOR - After breakfast, we will start a trekking to the deep forest, following prepared trails, conveniently preserved and signposted. On the way, we will cross the coastal forest towards higher forests, and then descend to flooded forests, to climb back to hill forests. During the journey, we will witness the most varied range of flora and fauna species in the wild.
Along the way, it will identify species of fruit, forest and medicinal trees that sustain animal and human populations in Amazonian forests. Among these are aguaje, mahogany, chestnut, catahua, cedar, skeptic, copaiba, shihuahuaco.
With luck and in silence, you will be able to see bigger mammals, like the sachavaca and the huangana; Rodents such as the giant otter, the ronsoco, the majaz and the armadillo; Primates such as the howler monkey or monkey and the puffin leoncillio, black king or capuchin; Reptiles like the iguana and the pallet; Amphibians such as the toad and birds such as the pampas, the partridge, the golden parakeet and the blue, yellow and red macaw.
In the rainforest you will appreciate insects like butterflies (Lepidoptera), beetles (Coleoptera), crickets, chicharras, ants, centipedes and millipedes of various species.
We arrive at the majestic Lake Apu Victor surrounded by immense swamps and giant trees. Amazon viewpoint (huge viewing platform), from which you will enjoy a panoramic view of the lake, watching Parrots, Macaws, Toucans, Camungos, Shanshos, Herons and other animals like Caimans, Turtles, etc.
Varieties of fish enter Lake Apu Victor with floods of the rainy season (growing). In addition, there are other species of fauna associated with the lake, such as motelo, matamata, aguajal charapita, friar, chozna, red deer, añuje and giant otters of the Amazon jungle.
Back at the shelter, a restful lunch will be waiting for you.
LOS MONOS ISLAND - In the afternoon, accompanied by our specialized guide, we will visit the Isle of Monkeys, located just minutes from the hostel in the heart of the Madre de Dios River. This island shows a huge variety of luxuriant flora and houses numerous specimens of primates, such as the maquisapa, the capuchin and the puffin and the lioness. In addition to other species of small mammals such as coati (Nasua), squirrel and a huge variety of colorful birds. Finally we will complete our visit of the island, enjoying the sunset, with the most impressive sunset in the jungle.
Back at the hostel, you can enjoy an exquisite farewell dinner.
After a restful night of rest, again the powerful vocalizations produced by the howler monkey will remind him that he is still in his domain and that it is time to leave. In our dining room awaits our breakfast, before undertaking the return to Puerto Maldonado.
MANU : 3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS
Departure from the city of Cusco very early in the morning in one of our vehicles. We will cross interesting inter-Andean valleys and picturesque peasant communities visiting the Pre-Inca Tombs "Chullpas" of Ninamarca. At noon we will pass by Paucartambo, typical colonial town of great importance at that time and still retains its colonial style. Continuing the trip we will ascend to the Abra de Acjanacu at 3,850 masl. From here we begin the descent through the Cloud Forest, an area rich in endemic species such as the Spectacled Bear, Gallito de las Rocas, orchids, bromeliads, ferns, etc. Lunch in the route observing the nature and then continue until arriving at our hostel San Pedro Orchids where we will spend our first night comfortably installed.
Very early we will be able to appreciate the interesting Courtship Dance of the Cock of the Rocks, National Bird of Peru, who has a striking plumage of very intense red-orange colors comfortably installed in an observation platform called "Lek". After breakfast we continue on our bus, crossing the high jungle, arriving at the village of Pilcopata * and then continue to the port of Atalaya (600 masl), where we will have lunch, this place is located on the banks of the Alto Madre de Dios river, place Where our boat with outboard motor is waiting, we will board the boat that is loaded with the equipment necessary for the trip, initiating our descent by the river where we will be able to observe the enormous diversity of existent birds, such as herons, vultures, cormorants, etc. Until arriving at our Private Reserve "Erika" where we will spend one night. Erika is located in a Transitional Zone between the High and Low Selva (500 meters above sea level), the different altitudes give rise to various habitats, explaining the high diversity of wildlife in the surrounding area, we will walk through its interesting paths where the guide will speak to us On mammals, birds, reptiles, insects, medicinal plants, etc.

You will continue until you reach our Private Reserve "Erika".
